It seems as though there is a new record set in the rental market each month, and June was no exception. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), average rental prices in the UK rose to the highest figure since 2016. The annual rise, of 3%, was a modest one compared to some annual growths, but with the figure moving upwards, it suggests the rental market continues to present opportunities for landlords.

In May of this year, the annual rate increase was 2.6%, so there was a jump from May to June when considering the yearly increases.

Ceri Lewis, the housing market statistician at the ONS said; “Rents continued to grow across the country, with the East Midlands seeing the biggest rises. London was again lowest, though its rate of increase continues to climb.”
