We love to see local shops and businesses do well. When the community thrives, everyone has a chance to benefit. So, we are were pleased to see the Harvest Barn Farmshop & Coffee Shop win the Central England Prestige awards for Farmshop of the Year 2021/22.
The farm shop is found on Ramsey Road between Farcet and Pondersbridge.
Fresh farm produce is of benefit for locals for many reasons.
You feel you support a local community, which is a positive thing. You can eat healthily with great fruit and veg on your plate. Also, by buying locally, your food has a smaller carbon footprint.
These are all things that people want to achieve these days. Peterborough offers many ways for people to lead their life more harmoniously, and it’s great to see.
The owners were delighted with the win
Owners Stephen and Lynn Briggs spoke to the Peterborough Telegraph about the award. They said; “We’d like to thank all our customers who have supported us & cheered us on since we opened in 2018 and we have been especially grateful for their support over the last two years. We would also like to thank our wonderful staff for their hard work and commitment – we wouldn’t have been able to do it without them!”
The owners continued by saying; “Our Farmshop Manager Ashley Holland has said that we’ve known about the award for some time but had been asked to keep it under wraps until the official announcements by the Prestige awards. However, we decided we couldn’t wait any longer and wanted to let our customers know the good news!”
Plenty of activities in store

Easter is around the corner, and there will be a Breakfast with the Easter Bunny activity at the farm. There will also be Easter Egg Hunts throughout the week, so there is fun for all the family.
The farm intends to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in style, with various activities across that week. With car boot sales taking place from May, farmers markets, summer fun days in August and Christmas Craft Fayres at the end of the year, the farm is busy for the rest of 2022.
